One day in 2023 I was making a coffee at in the office kitchen when a colleague started telling be about making and modding watches, and my journey into the world of SekioMods began.

Over the next 12 months I built a ton of watches, playing with different dial colours and styles, case designs and straps, and custom bezels. 

But even thought I made watches I loved to wear I kept having one reoccurring thought; These dials are so boring.  Surely there is more out there. 

As a Microbrand collector I always on the lookout for something new.  But for every cool and innovative design, I’d see another 5 boring Rolex clones, and would wonder if I could do something more interesting. 

Then fate intervened; I left my corporate job to spend a year caring for my elderly parents. Finding myself with a lot of free time I started working on the design and prototyping of what I thought were more interesting dials, and then eventually the full watch. 

With that, Laneway Watch Company was born to bring these ideas to the world.
